Once it's in, the window fogs up and there's no timer. Count it in your head.

How to play

Proof is a daily baking game that tests your internal clock. Every pastry has a bake time printed on its ticket. Once the tray is in, the oven window fogs over and there is nothing to watch: no timer, no ticking, no progress bar.

  1. Read the ticket, for example “Croissant: 14 seconds”.
  2. Tap Into the oven. From that moment the clock is running, but you can't see it.
  3. Tap Pull the tray when you think the time is up. You can also press Space or Enter.
  4. Pull it close to on time and it comes out golden. Too early and it's pale dough; too late and it's burnt.
  5. Five pastries a day, with bake times from about 5 seconds up to 40. Each one is worth 100 points.

Scoring is based on how far off you were as a share of the bake time. Every 1% off costs 2.5 points, so pulling a 20-second loaf at 21 seconds (5% late) scores 88, and anything 40% off scores nothing. Within 5% counts as golden.

Counting “one Mississippi, two Mississippi” helps, but long bakes are where everyone's clock starts to drift.

Past puzzles

Bake any past day's tickets again. Archive bakes are just for fun and don't count toward your stats.

This is puzzle #1. Past puzzles will be listed here from tomorrow.
